Hi,

I have few questions in 'mini kernel dump' support to linux kernel 2.6.12 (i386).

my system details:

kernel : 2.6.12
arch : i386
RAM : 8G
method : mini kernel dump

I have built and installed all the required binaries to the target machine.
triggered the force panic "echo 2 > /proc/mkexec/stats" and main kernel
switches the control to mini kernel.

Mini kernel start writing the dump(memory pages) to the block device.
I have observed that mini kernel gets hang after (near) writing the 7G to the block device.
with this i am unable to take full dump (ie 8G).

1) can i take dump to whole system RAM or any limitations are there in this method.
2) I have done few experiments
1) reduced the system RAM to 2G and got the everything and it works well. able to analyze it.
2) When my RAM size is beyond 7G facing the problem (ie hang )

can you please help me in this.

thanks,
Seetharam
